Topic Fads

Topic Fads are topics created in the PPP that for no apparent reason spawn countless "copycat" topics with slight changes. Usually the original topic is an average PPP topic.

Example: A user posts a topic titled: "My cat just scratched me." Soon later, another topic comes up, something like "I scratched my cat." Several more parody topics appear such as "My sandwich just scratched me", "I just scratched Klobber", etc. etc.

These tend to get quite out of hand rather quickly, and are often blamed for the frequent PPP prunes. Though they pop up quite often, most of the members agree that these fad topics are doing nothing good for the site, as they almost always prove more annoying than funny, and end up raising the page count in the PPP, causing the prune to happen sooner.
